Dr. Ruchi Agarwal
Dr Ruchi Agarwal is a registered Specialist Periodontist in Melbourne, dedicated to preserving natural dentition and enhancing long-term periodontal health. She completed her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics at the University of Melbourne.
She has extensive expertise in the replacement of missing teeth with dental implants, ranging from straightforward cases to complex procedures, including simultaneous or staged grafting and advanced implant surgeries.
Dr Agarwal provides comprehensive periodontal care encompassing the prevention, diagnosis, and management of gum disease, bleeding gums, gingival recession, bone loss, and peri-implant disease. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Prior to moving to Melbourne in 2010, she completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Dental Surgery in India, with
specialist training in Periodontics. With many years of clinical experience in both general dentistry and specialist periodontal care, she has built extensive clinical experience in dentistry while continuing to deepen her expertise in periodontics and implant dentistry. She is committed to delivering high-quality treatment tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Her areas of expertise include
non-surgical periodontal treatment, surgical periodontal therapy, gum grafting, bone grafting, crown lengthening, periodontal regeneration, dental implant placement surgeries, and the management of peri-implant diseases.
She has a particular interest in
soft tissue (gum) grafting and gingival recession coverage procedures, helping patients improve both their oral health and smile aesthetics.
In addition to her clinical private practice, Dr Agarwal has been involved in teaching and served as a Clinical Supervisor in the Department of Periodontics at Melbourne Dental School since 2012, where she enjoys mentoring and supporting the next generation of dental professionals.
She is passionate about combining clinical excellence with compassionate care, ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their treatment journey.
